How To Give The Impression That You’re Accomplished — Even If You Suck At Everything

The contents of your house say more about you than your social media feeds. The only thing more telling would be going through your trash, but no one’s doing that — outside of archaeologists and acronymed government agencies.

Therefore, you only need to be clever about the contents of your home to create a convincing mask of being talented, accomplished, and interesting.

This differs from tasteful interior decorating. If your home looks like the walkthrough model in a housing development, you’re missing out on the personality that speaks to your “capabilities.”

You can easily create an awe-inspiring sense of “wow, this is a person worth knowing” by implementing the following 8 recommendations.

Better yet, you can suck at everything and still pull this off.

Recommendation 1: Display a musical instrument.

Now, if you play the piano, by all means, get one. Barring that, get a ukulele or acoustic guitar. Learn four songs passably well.

If anybody asks, you dabble.

Some of your guests may use the instrument to show off, which is fantastic. You don’t have to use up the four songs you know!
